Dr. Bruce Brown serves as Vice President of Strategy at GM Defense, where he leads the development and execution of enterprise strategy and works across functional teams to align business development, technology roadmaps, and long-term planning. He is responsible for shaping the company’s strategic vision and driving growth across domestic and international defense markets.
Prior to joining GM Defense, Dr. Brown was Vice President of Business Development for Mission Systems at Collins Aerospace, a business of RTX. In that role, he led global business development efforts across military, government, and civil sectors, identifying and capturing new opportunities across a diverse portfolio of advanced systems.
Earlier in his RTX career, he held leadership positions in business development, product management, engineering, across multiple domains and DoD services.
Before joining industry, Dr. Brown served in the U.S. Army as a platoon leader and tactical control officer for a Patriot missile unit at Fort Bliss, Texas. He retired from active duty in 2009.
Dr. Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, an MBA and a master’s degree in Finance from Northeastern University, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Capella University. He is a graduate of the RTX Leadership Development Program and holds certifications in earned value management, capture management, and program management. He is based in South Carolina.
