He has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, spanning licensing, standards, policy, patent management, and business development. He is also a licensed attorney and patent attorney, with a JD from Wayne State University Law School, an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a Masters in Computer Science from Wayne State University.
As a Senior Director of Licensing, Jim focuses on negotiating and executing licensing agreements for InterDigital's extensive patent portfolio, covering 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, IoT, and other emerging technologies. He also advocates for the company's interests and positions on standards and competition policy, engaging with governmental agencies, standard development organizations, industry associations, and media outlets. Additionally, he chairs the legal committee at oneM2M. Jim is recognized as one of the world's leading IP strategists by the IAM Strategy 300 in 2023. He is passionate about driving innovation and value creation in the wireless sector.
