Identify. Validate. Launch.

AI is reshaping space-based communications, especially as defense, commercial, and space stakeholders prioritize resilience, autonomy, and reliable communications across dynamic and disrupted environments.

Which technologies are ready to operate at mission level?

AI x SatCom Launch Vehicle will identify and accelerate the most promising AI-enabled, space-based communications technologies operating across proliferated and hybrid architectures and connect them directly to the stakeholders shaping next-generation communications systems.

Enter a curated, multi-stage validation and acceleration program focused on AI-enabled space communications systems that will:

  • Identify high-potential, mission-relevant technologies
  • Evaluate and filter them through expert review
  • Showcase top solutions at the Defense TechConnect Innovation Summit
  • Extend engagement through a post-event Launch Vehicle Cohort

Why?

Defense and space organizations are actively advancing priorities around:

  • Resilient and trusted space communications architectures
  • Proliferated LEO and distributed constellations
  • AI-enabled autonomy across communications infrastructure
  • Reliable communications across contested, disrupted, and infrastructure-limited environments

At the same time:

  • Emerging technologies are difficult to evaluate across operational space and hybrid communications contexts
  • Capabilities are fragmented across non-traditional, commercial, and early-stage innovators
  • There is no consistent way to compare solutions at the constellation or system level
  • High-potential technologies often fail to reach program offices, primes, and mission stakeholders at the right moment

Launch Vehicle closes that gap, creating a direct pathway between emerging capability and mission-driven demand.

Aligned to Priority Areas:

This program is aligned to ongoing government and defense priorities, including:

  • Resilient and proliferated space architectures (LEO/MEO/GEO/VLEO)
  • AI-enabled management of communications and networks
  • Hybrid space-ground communications architectures
  • Reliable operational performance across dynamic and disrupted environments

We seek solutions that support these evolving mission needs

Topics of Interest:

We seek technologies that operate in and through space, not adjacent to it. Relevant technologies may originate from commercial, civil, telecommunications, infrastructure, or defense applications.

  • On-orbit AI for satellite and constellation operations (autonomy, tasking, system management)
  • AI-driven crosslink routing and dynamic network orchestration across proliferated and hybrid architectures
  • Resilient and reliable communications across contested, degraded, remote, or infrastructure-limited environments (anti-jam, failover, reconstitution)
  • Hybrid space-ground network integration aligned to next-generation communications and defense architectures
  • Edge processing and AI-enabled analytics in space and bandwidth-constrained environments
  • System-level monitoring, diagnostics, and autonomous recovery across distributed space systems
  • Advanced satellite subsystems and payloads with embedded AI capabilities

We are not looking for isolated capabilities; we are looking for technologies that can integrate into and strengthen next-generation space communication architectures
